Job Description
Federal Hill Consulting has partnered with a next-gen visual collaboration solutions technology company. We are seeking a talented Sales Engineer to join our Federal Sales team to help fuel our continued rate of growth and success. In support of our client's sales team, the Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical pre- and post-sale customer support and guidance for our products and systems.
As a key contributor to the sales process, you will work with prospective customers to understand their needs, requirements, and expectations and demonstrate how our client's products address industry and customer requirements. In support of existing customers and to promote future account growth, you will act as a Technical Account Manager with a focus on driving customer adoption and expansion through training, workflow consultation, and support. To be successful in this role, you will need to develop an overarching understanding of the company's complete software and hardware technical stack.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical field representative-conduct demos, answer customer inquires, and provide customer support
Identify technical requirements and provide recommendations to customers on how the products best fit their needs
Act as a technical liaison to our sales and product development teams, translating prospective and existing customer needs into defined product requirements
Provide consultative guidance throughout the sales process-deliver sales presentations, orchestrate product demonstrations, and scope out technical solutions
Provide post-sale support to facilitate customer adoption and account growth by delivering product training, hosting consultative workshops, and managing customer health and maturity
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
3+ years of experience in a customer-facing role selling, delivering, or evangelizing for hardware or software solutions.
Ability to converse intelligently with software engineers to translate system capabilities into product information for customers and to communicate product features requests into engineering requirements
A general understanding of audio visual systems
A broad understanding of computer hardware and software with experience using Linux and a command line interface
A general understanding of computer networking
Willingness to travel up to 50% for on-site client demos, meetings, and trainings
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Linux OS, ability to write command line scripts for tweaking and troubleshooting
Solid understanding of networking
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience selling enterprise-level technical solutions to Federal Government clients
Eligible to hold a DoD security clearance
Familiarity with collaborative solutions
A general understanding of cloud computing
Experience selling, designing, or integrating high-end AV solutions
Experience in consulting or technical account management
