The Sales Director (SD) is responsible for the successful management of a team of District Managers and Sales Representatives in an assigned franchise. The SD will oversee the activities and performance of their team and is responsible for meeting or exceeding program goals.

Essential Functions:
  • Manage Syneos Health District Managers and interface with Syneos Health Sales Representatives. Responsibilities include selection, evaluation, and retention of employees.
  • Oversee training of district managers and representatives. Provide ongoing coaching to build a capable and effective team through continuous feedback.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the training department to provide optimal new hire training, ongoing training, and prepare workshops for district and national meetings.
  • Create a climate of trust, allowing open communication, decision-making, and decisiveness.
  • Inspire ownership, accountability, initiative, and engagement by communicating vision, objectives, performance outcomes, and action steps.
  • Demonstrate strong drive to achieve business goals and evaluate the impact of external events on franchise strategies.
  • Approve and assist with implementation of district and territory plans within the franchise.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify issues and opportunities and use analytical rigor to frame situations.
  • Incorporate new perspectives and craft solutions or recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with promotional regulations and monitor team adherence to approved materials and messaging.
  • Review employee performance and address development needs to achieve performance objectives.
  • Provide feedback to the marketing department on sales and educational materials.
  • Establish communication plans to engage with the team and gather feedback.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders across marketing, managed care, HR, and operations.
  • Manage franchise budget and expenses, maximizing revenue while controlling costs.
  • Travel frequently within franchise districts and to corporate offices.
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree required; M.S. or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience, including at least 5 years managing sales teams.
  • Pain experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to identify high-impact strategies and execute business plans effectively.
  • Proven experience in franchise selling environments.
  • Strong negotiation and cross-functional influence skills.
  • Ability to travel and maintain a valid driver’s license.
