Job description

The Role
Everlaw is seeking a Partner Development Director to identify, recruit, negotiate, and launch new strategic partners that can materially expand Everlaw's channel business. This role focuses on net-new partner creation and the early phase of partner success: finding the right partners, structuring the right deals, aligning cross-functional teams, and helping those partnerships produce their first meaningful wave of business.
The core of the work is hunting for the right partners, evaluating where they can unlock growth for Everlaw, negotiating complex agreements, and helping new partners become productive quickly. The right person is both a builder and a closer: they know how to identify high-potential opportunities, build a business case, negotiate first-of-kind deals, and turn an early partnership into a real commercial motion.
This is a full-time exempt position with the option to be remote or work out of our Oakland, CA or New York, NY office. Office-based employees are eligible for a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home Tu/Fr.
What you'll do
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit high-potential strategic partners-including service providers, resellers, global advisories, and legal solutions partners-to unlock growth across new segments and geographies.
  • Structure, negotiate, and close complex, first-of-kind commercial partnership agreements and non-standard deal models.
  • Build comprehensive business cases and joint commercial plans, establishing clear cross-functional paths to make new partnerships productive quickly.
  • Lead early post-signature activation and internal orchestration, providing hands-on sales support to drive the first meaningful wave of joint business.
  • Educate new partners on Everlaw's broader AI strategy, helping them embed these capabilities into their own customer-facing services and commercial motions.
  • Represent Everlaw externally with senior partner stakeholders, anchoring complex commercial discussions with executive presence and credibility.
About You
  • You have at least 10 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, channel development, or alliance-building within a SaaS or technology company.
  • You have a proven track record of hunting, evaluating, and signing net-new partners from scratch rather than solely managing existing accounts.
  • You have direct experience structuring and negotiating complex partnership agreements, commercial terms, and custom partner models.
  • You understand services-focused partner ecosystems and possess the strategic judgment to evaluate whether an alliance can successfully build, sell, and deliver a joint motion.
  • You combine strategic vision with commercial urgency, successfully navigating ambiguity to move opportunities from initial contact to signed deal and early revenue.
  • You are highly effective in cross-functional environments, knowing how to mobilize internal support across product, legal, finance, and sales for non-obvious opportunities.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States. Please note that at this time, Everlaw is not sponsoring U.S. employment visas for this role.
Bonus points
  • Experience within legal tech, cybersecurity, compliance, or another services-led enterprise software category.
  • Proven experience leveraging partners to successfully enter a new region, market segment, or category.
  • Experience designing new partner models that combine enterprise software, professional services, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Established experience working alongside global advisories, ALSPs, MSPs, major consultancies, or strategic resellers.

Think you're missing some of the skills and are hesitant to apply? We do not believe in the 'perfect' candidate and encourage you to apply if you feel you can bring value to our team. We often revisit candidates who may have applied for a different role if something comes up that's a better fit.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts for health and dependent care expenses
