Job Description:

The Business Development Associate is responsible for supporting a team of Business Development Officers that identify, market, and sell loan products to the small business and regional commercial marketplace. The Business Development Associate provides sales, deal analysis and process support to Business Development Officers in a defined region. In this position the Business Development Associate is well versed in all aspects of the front end and closing processes of the bank.

Depth & Scope:

  • Markets and assists with calls and other marketing efforts on prospects, clients, internal referral sources and external referral sources to assure service requirements are met and new business opportunities are realized
  • Participates in the development of close working relationships with internal bank partners as well external COI's in conjunction with BDO activities
  • Works with the BDO towards completing narratives, workbooks and other documentation necessary to submit a loan application to credit
  • Manages all aspects of closing approved lending requests and executes specific requirements as appropriate
  • Analyzes, originates and monitors a variety of more routine, less complex loans
  • Makes or assists in sales calls, assists in marketing efforts including both internal and external communication, gathers related financial and general business information as directed, coordinates and performs financial analyses needed to make credit decisions
  • Successfully passes all training modules


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 0-3 years of sales experience
  • Good interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills

  • Working skills using word, excel and PowerPoint
  • Preferred degree or experience in banking or finance
