Position Summary:
K1 is seeking a Private Equity Business Development Associate for our office located in Manhattan Beach, CA. The Business Development Associate will be at the front lines of K1's success; responsible for identifying and building relationships with executives at exceptional companies that are seen as investment opportunities for the fund. The right candidate will have a knowledge and interest in a variety of businesses and business models, as well as understanding of business fundamentals. Most importantly, the right candidate will fit the values of K1 - Passion, Persistence, Humility, and Excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead in-person management meetings as the face of K1
  • Expanding K1's relationship network with key industry contacts
  • Sourcing and evaluating actionable investment opportunities in the enterprise software sector
  • Creating and executing on investment theses within enterprise software
  • Managing the acquisition pipelines for current portfolio companies
  • Preparing investment committee reports to present to senior management
  • Developing proprietary research within the enterprise software industry
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements
Requirements:
  • 2-4 years of experience working in Finance, Consulting, Sales or Business Development
  • Background or interest in the enterprise software industry
  • High degree of curiosity, proactive mentality and desire to work in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment
  • An understanding of finance and accounting as well as exhibit the ability to communicate and build relationships
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Creativity and entrepreneurial spirit

  • Bachelor's degree
