The primary responsibility of this position is selling the Company's products and providing a high-quality service to customers. Makes sales by (i) soliciting new prospects for customers and (ii) persuading regular customers to increase the amount of their purchases or to purchase new Company products. In conjunction with the route salesperson's outside sales and solicitations, he/she will be expected to deliver/install products to/for customers along his/her route and/or within his/her territory.

Essential Job Duties

  • Solicit new and existing customers daily and promote and sell the Company's products to customers.
  • Develop relationships with and provide service to existing customers that ensure customer retention and customer loyalty.
  • Identify potential new customers and solicit business from the same.
  • Be familiar with the Company's product literature and be able to convey product information and availability to customers to ensure the growth of both revenue and the number of customers along the route and/or within the territory.
  • Attend regular sales training meetings to review sales performance and discuss sales goals and ways to improve sales performance.
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Operate Company vehicle in a safe, courteous and responsible manner with a valid driver's license.
  • Deliver/Install products to/for Customers along the route and/or within the territory - Verify parts delivered/installed to/for customers and obtain the signature of the customer confirming accuracy compared to the work order.
  • Protect company assets by diligently performing all duties in a safe manner, including safely handling products delivered and payments collected.
  • Operate in compliance with applicable rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures.
  • Manage daily route independently to ensure accurate and timely delivery of product.
  • Take responsibility for your safety and watch out for the safety of others. Use safe precautions, proper tools, and equipment, and adhere to all safe work practices and policies.
  • Assumes other duties as assigned.

  • Not responsible for supervising employees.

    Minimum Requirements

    Education & Experience

    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Previous sales-related experience.
    • Six+ months driving/delivery experience.
    • Must qualify for Corporate insurance programs, including vehicle insurance.
    • Valid Drivers License.

    Preferred Requirements

    • 2+ years of sales experience.
    • Some business-related college coursework.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills. May train others in functional areas, interact with others and make presentations to department or middle management.

    Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a vehicle most of the time.
    • Must be able to sit and drive for extended periods (up to 12 hours at a time); use hands to operate machinery.
    • May need to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
    • Frequent exposure to contaminants such as fuel or exhaust. May occasionally wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
    • May need to work in cramped spaces that could require getting into awkward positions.
    • May be exposed to extreme temperatures, extreme lighting, and high noise levels.
    • Daily travel will be required by drivers making deliveries.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
