Job Summary:
Route Helpers assist the driver to deliver product orders and maintain assigned customer accounts. This role supports delivery operations, inventory rotation, customer service, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Learn and assist with all the driver's duties, including vehicle maintenance, delivery, and safety.
• Help stock shelves and manage out-of-stock and distribution issues.
• Maintain and build displays and ensure shelf sets are up to standard.
• Monitor freshness of products and ensure proper rotation or removal to meet company standards.
• Assist with adhering to route schedules and ensuring timely customer deliveries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
• Assist the sale's team with upselling products in accordance with company guidelines and T.A.B.C. regulations.
• Complete all assigned training, seminars, and classes.
• Assists with completion and submission of required daily reporting accurately and on time.
• Perform duties in compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Act as applicable.
• Other duties as assigned by management or designee.
Requirements
Job Requirements:
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team and assist in various tasks as needed.
• Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Demands:
• Regularly required to use hands for handling, grasping, and reaching.
• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, or kneeling.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, and balancing.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequently sitting as a passenger during deliveries, along with physical activity such as unloading and moving product using resources.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment)
Involves frequent/infrequent, occasional, and routine exposure to:
• Exposure to various retail and food service environments, which may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and crowded spaces.
• Potential for exposure to product samples and promotional materials, requiring adherence to safety guidelines.
• Travel may involve risks, including adverse weather conditions.
• Occasional exposure to warehouse settings, where moving equipment and inventory may pose safety risks.
• Other extreme hazards not listed above.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
• Must possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass criminal background and drug screen.
