Sales Account Manager
On-site (Detroit, Michigan) | Full-Time | U.S. Work Authorization Required
Position Summary
The Sales Account Manager drives new business and manages emerging accounts within Red Boot Beverage’s co-packing and private label business, combining prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, proposal development, onboarding, and ongoing account management. Working closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, this role executes account-level sales activities, builds strong client relationships, and partners cross-functionally to ensure customer needs are met from sale through production and delivery.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of private label and co-packing beverage accounts, including retailers, distributors, wholesalers, and brand owners.
  • Prospect and actively pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s customer base.
  • Respond to inbound leads by conducting discovery conversations, gathering requirements, and supporting pricing and proposal development.
  • Manage day-to-day communication with assigned accounts, ensuring strong service levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and account summaries for review by the Chief Revenue Officer.
  • Support the Chief Revenue Officer in executing sales strategies, account planning, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Lead onboarding for new customers by coordinating timelines, documentation, product specifications, and production readiness with internal teams.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts and communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including pipeline activity, account notes, forecasts, and communication history.
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, and Quality teams to ensure customer requirements are clearly communicated and executed.
  • Support new product launches, packaging changes, and specification updates by coordinating between customers and internal departments.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues related to production, quality, service, or logistics in a timely manner.
  • Participate in quarterly account reviews and support performance reporting.
  • Attend trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and generate new business opportunities.
  • Conduct or support customer presentations, tastings, and site visits as needed.
  • Contribute to improved forecast accuracy, on-time delivery performance, and overall customer satisfaction through proactive communication and follow-through.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of beverage industry trends, particularly within private label and co-packing segments.
  • Meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate in food safety meetings as required.
  • Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in sales, account management, or customer-facing roles.
  • Experience in beverage, food manufacturing, co-packing, or CPG industries strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; CRM/ERP experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with strong time management skills and ability to work independently in a field-based role.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Work Expectations
  • This is a regular, full-time position with frequent in-person meetings with potential, new and existing customers located throughout their defined sales territory. 
  • This position needs to have the ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
  • This position requires long periods sitting/working at a computer, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
  • The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
