Job Description:

Overview:

Tampa Bay Academy of Hope's Promoting Abstinence Through Health and Self-Awareness (PATHS) Program is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SRAE Facilitators to deliver sexual risk avoidance education to youth participants. The SRAE Facilitators will play a crucial role in training and educating young individuals on sexual risk avoidance strategies using the Heritage Keepers curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Delivery:
    • Deliver sexual risk avoidance education sessions to youth participants using the Heritage Keepers curriculum.
    • Ensure that all curriculum content is presented effectively, engaging participants in discussions and activities.
  2. Participant Training:
    • Train a cohort of 100 participants over the course of year one, focusing on sexual risk avoidance, healthy relationships, and self-awareness.
    • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment for participants to ask questions and seek guidance.
  3. Documentation and Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of all participant contacts and training sessions, including dates, times, participation levels, outcomes, and any follow-up plans.
    • Submit timely reports and documentation as required by the program.
  4. Collaboration and Networking:
    • Collaborate regularly with peers and representatives from partner service organizations to track participants' progress and facilitate the best outcomes for all youth.
    • Attend networking and training sessions to stay informed about best practices and new developments in sexual risk avoidance education.
  5. Training and Development:
    • Attend training sessions for the Heritage Keepers Curriculum, which may require travel to Charleston, SC.
    • Participate in training sessions for networking platforms to enhance program effectiveness.
  6. Scheduling and Flexibility:
    • Coordinate with other Facilitators and a Program Assistant to accommodate the varied schedules of youth participants and ensure consistency in program delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Previous experience in facilitating educational programs, especially related to sexual risk avoidance or youth education.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage and relate to youth participants effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to promoting abstinence, healthy relationships, and self-awareness.
  • Willingness to travel to Charleston, SC, for curriculum training.
  • Comfortable with using networking platforms and technology for program communication.

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time position with flexible hours.
  • Work locations: Main office at 7402 N 56th Street, Suite 400, Tampa, FL 33617, or Lakeland office at 711 N Kentucky Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801, depending on program needs.
  • The program aims to train 100 participants each over the course of year one.
  • Regular networking and training sessions may require occasional travel.
  • Facilitators will contribute 50% of their time to this project.
