SAIC is seeking an experienced Program Security Officer to join a team of qualified and diverse individuals at our Santa Maria, CA location. Candidates must work on site at our Santa Maria CA location. The candidate shall respond quickly and effectively to security needs and concerns. The successful candidate will provide program security support primarily to the Intelligence Community (IC) and other DoW agencies. Candidates must have an active TS/SCI Clearance with the ability to get a Poly.

Role responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer all security aspects for multiple programs, including implementing physical, program, facility and information security requirements to ensure compliance with NISPOM, DCIDs, ICDs, federal security regulations and information security requirements.
  • Develop and administer security programs and procedures for classified materials, documents, and equipment.
  • Develop, write and review security documentation and provide guidance and assistance for all security levels including collateral and SCI information.
  • Investigate and manage security incidents and prepare reports specifying preventive action to be taken
  • Conduct SCI Indoctrination briefings and educational training for new and current employees and coordinate security debriefings as necessary
  • Conduct candidate prescreen interviews and serve as an integral participant in the recruiting process
  • Responsible for SCIFs and may be required to respond to after-hours alarms
  • Support other facility security requirements as needed
  • Provide proposal support, as needed to include writing Security Volumes (Prior experience authoring security volumes is a plus)
  • Be an active member of the overall SAIC security team
  • Assist with preparing clearance request packages
  • Other Security duties as assigned

Typical Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related Intelligence Community experience. Masters and 4 years. An additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
  • Position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and consent for CI Poly
  • Candidates must be U.S. Citizens 
  • Candidate should have excellent communication, judgment and decision making skills
  • Prior experience managing the build-out of SCIFs
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and identify solutions
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM, DCIDS, ICDs, and Executive Orders, to ensure security compliance
  • Knowledge of the various security disciplines such as physical security, personnel security, information system security and industrial security to determine, apply, and monitor appropriate security requirements for assigned programs
  • Must be willing to be available 24/7 for on-call duties to uphold our commitment to continuous operational readiness, which includes providing SAIC a mechanism for which to contact you.  In addition, must be willing to provide on-site support commensurate with the amount of classified duties as assigned.
