Pay rate and Shift
l Job Duration: 6 Months (Temp to Hire)
l Shift: 1st Shift (Mon - Fri) (6AM - 2:30PM)
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Responsible for sampling, testing, plating, reading, and recording product test results. Trouble shoot out of spec results.
Ensure that daily records are kept and maintained.
Data Entry, tracking and interpretation.
Following QC Hold Procedures for out-of-specified products.
Must possess the ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP's).
Will assist in the discipline to maintain a 5-S rating of an "A".
Be flexible in working hours.
Equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Participate in continuous improvement.
Must meet with the supervisor daily covering any issues associated with production.
All production records, including CCP's, should be reviewed daily.
Follow-up customer complaints and correspond with production.
Manage product specifications.
Coordinate HACCP team.
Maintain policy and implement policies and procedures including training relating to GMP's, Food Safety and regulatory compliance.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to adapt effectively within a continually changing and demanding environment.
Must be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to communicate effectively in order to maintain high levels of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and duties as they relate to food safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Minimum bachelor’s degree (Food Science, Biology, Microbiology or related science) and minimum 2 years' experience or an addition 4+ years (min 6 years) if no degree.
HACCP certified required, PCQI certified required, GFSI experience preferred.
Knowledge of Microbiological, Physical, Chemical and Organoleptic Testing.
Ensure Safeway policies, procedures, and workplace safety are adhered to.
Evaluate trends from test results and develop plans to correct deficiencies and communicate these plans to employees, and management.
Implement quality control processes/testing to meet the expectations of Safeway quality standards and ensure that the product(s) are within specification.
Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Utilize and maintain inventory on laboratory and sanitation supplies.
Good oral/written communication skills.
Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
Proficient in window-based PC programs.
Lab Test Equipment/Maintenance.
Must follow current Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Sanitation Practices, Food Safety and Occupational Safety.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs as well as the ability to safely climb ladders and work at elevated heights to perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and other job-related tasks.
