Safety Technician

ATI has a current need for a full-time Safety Technician.

 
ATI is seeking to fill a Safety Technician position at the US Air Force Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR).  This individual will provide Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) in accordance with Operational Risk Management (AFI 90-901) and Operational Risk Management Guidelines and Tools (AFPAM 90-215).  As part of a risk reduction process, these A&AS services will assist and inform leaders, helping them identify and control safety and health hazards. 


Work is performed at NTTR Headquarters on Nellis AFB, and NTTR ranges across Nevada and California with occasional travel via government vehicles, aircraft, and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs). Compliance with all client safety, security, and restricted-area protocols is mandatory.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Conduct safety inspections of NTTR facilities and ranges; identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist with mishap investigations and maintain required safety documentation.
  • Support radiation, laser, and electromagnetic safety programs.
  • Help manage NTTR safety training requirements and track compliance.
  • Use WDZ/SDZ software to provide analysis required for training operations planning.
  • Participate in safety reviews and support range operations.
  • Assist with PPE check-in/out, including Laser Eye Protection.
  • Travel to NTTR ranges as needed and comply with all Air Force safety and security procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates must be US Citizens and must be eligible to obtain and maintain clearance; Candidate must be able to work independently in a secure or sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Personnel must have and maintain a valid Real ID driver’s license
  • Ability to work in remote/rugged environments and travel across NTTR ranges.
  • Experience with Air Force safety regulations preferred (AFI 91 202, AFI 13 212, AFI 48 series).
  • Familiarity with range operations or hazard mitigation preferred.
  • NAVSCOLEOD graduate preferred (may escort staff in UXO areas).
  • Experience using WDZ/SDZ software preferred (training provided).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $95,000 - $98,500/year depending on experience

Location: Nellis AFB, NV, occasional travel to NTTR ranges in NV & CA

Working Hours: Normal Work Hours – Monday – Friday (anticipate 40 per week).
