Job description

The pay range for this position is $20.43-$30.01

This position is NOT a hands-on position. Safety Supports do not provide medical care or security.

o Perform the function of Safety Support pursuant to the 1 on 1 Monitoring Policy by complying with the Safety Support continuous observation responsibilities.

o When on standby, respond to the Memorial Regional Health Emergency Department within 30 minutes.

o Maintains awareness of patient safety needs and remains attentive to any activity in the patient room.

o Works with staff to inventory patientโ€™s personal belongings and keep them secure.

o Monitors visitors by notifying medical staff of any non-conformity to patient safety recommendations made by the provider.

o Reports relevant observations and interactions to RN and clinical staff assigned to care for the patient.

o Provides appropriate support to the patient and family.

o Provides resources regarding mental health services to the patient and family.

o May assess patientโ€™s basic living needs and provide information to the RN and Social Worker.

o Interacts with the staff in a way that best serves the patientโ€™s needs.

o Reports to Emergency Behavioral Health team with Safety Support forms, scheduling conflicts/gaps, and other concerns as they arise.

o Adheres to the MRH mission and service model to patients and community.

o Performs other duties as assigned
