Job Duties

  • Plans and schedules meetings, exercises, and activities to maintain EOC and EM compliance. Collects data and creates reports on activities, finding, and trends for reporting to theEOCand EM committees. Maintains assessments related to maintenance and construction activities such asPreconstruction, Infection Control, and Interim Life Safety Risk assessments and monitors activities.
  • Regularly reviewsEOCdocumentation to verify activities and compliance. Stays informed of regulatory changes and assists with policy adjustments and action plans as needed.EOCis inclusive of Safety and Security, Hazardous Materials and Waste, Fire Safety / Life Safety (LS), Medical Equipment, Utility, and other physical environmental requirements.
  • Coordinates and conductsEOCand LS rounds regularly. Maintains documentation and reports findings to department directors. Reviews EM inventories as defined in policies and SOPs to ensure compliance. Reports surveillance activities toEOCand EM committees.
  • Coordinates, plans, and facilitates EM drills and exercises. Coordinates exercises with outside resources includingLCMCEM, Region Healthcare Coalition, Local government EM, Police, Fire, Ambulance. Creates After-Action Plans and tracks corrective actions through completion.
  • Participates in regulatory surveys includingTJC, CMS, LADH, DHH, LASFM, ETC.

Education and Work Experience

Appropriate combination of education and work experience is required:

An Associate's Degree, or a recognized field related Certification such asCHFM,CHSP, orCHEP and 3 (three) yearsof Safety, Life Safety, or Emergency Management experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient in quality improvement processes. Proficient computer skills in MS Office product (word, excel,power point) to develop spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations. Requires above average written and oral communication. Requires the ability to deal with Environmental Conditions such as, working inside and outside, possibly in all types of weather, and working in close quarters with others under stressful conditions.
