Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the Risk Management Coordinator role for our Quality Department! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the department: Our Quality Department helpsreduce hospital, clinic, and long-term care medical malpractice and general liability risk through objective patient care evaluation, safety reviews, and proactive harm-prevention strategies. To lead a facility-wide patient safety program that fosters a just culture, strengthens patient partnerships, and advances organizational performance improvement.
A typical day includes : The Risk Manager & Patient Safety Leader is responsible for coordinating and implementing organization-wide risk management and patient safety activities across the Hospital, Physician Clinics, Long-Term Care Facilities, Home Care Services, Homemaker Plus, Health Transit Services, and Home Medical Equipment.
  • Supporting the regulatory compliance coordinator to review and interpret regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, state regulations) to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Assisting and ensuring the development of a written patient-centric risk management plan for the organization.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining an organization-wide event reporting system to identify, classify, and measure frequency and severity of events.
  • Supporting the Patient Advocate to resolve complaints and grievances promptly.

Job Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited associate or Bachelor's program or greater than five (5) years experience in Risk Management activity
  • Skills: Proficiency in identifying safety threats, clinical auditing, and conducting investigations into adverse events or "near misses", analytical skills, Technical Proficiency
  • Experience: Five years Risk Management experience
  • License:RN
  • Physical: Manual dexterity, ability to work at a computer for extended periods
