Position Summary

As a Senior Cabin Modifications & Engineering Program Manager, you will lead and drive the delivery of customer offers/proposals pertaining to aircraft cabin upgrades, interior modification programs and customer-centric solutions across Airbus commercial programs/products. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, certification, production, airline customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to define project scope, engineering statement of work, project schedule, and project costs (engineering and parts). Offers/proposals are to be delivered within the framework of full compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.

This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering professional with demonstrated experience in aircraft cabin modification (layout and systems) projects, familiarity with STC/DOA processes, and technical program leadership.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Opportunity/Project Evaluation: 30%

    • Assess customer requirements and specifications related to the desired "To Be" aircraft configuration

    • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to conduct an initial technical feasibility study (including risk assessment) of the desired modification.

    • Work with engineering and kitting teams to develop a rough order of magnitude cost estimate for a potential project

  • Offer/Proposal Development: 50%

    • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to expand the previous evaluation into a detailed Offer specifying the scope of work, firm cost estimate, and accurate schedule

    • Coordinate with sales and marketing to ensure proposals align with customer needs and are competitively priced

    • Support negotiations with customers and suppliers to secure favorable agreements and contract terms

  • Customer & Stakeholder Engagement: 15%

    • Ensure that customer expectations are understood and integrated into engineering plans with a strong focus on safety, performance, and compliance.

    • Foster strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing excellent customer service throughout the offer lifecycle.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned: 5%

    • Identify and support local improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through process, methods and tools improvements.

Qualified Experience and Training

Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)

Preferred Education

  • Master's degree in Engineering and/or PMP or equivalent project management certification.

Required Experience

  • 9+ years of engineering experience in aircraft interiors, cabin modifications, systems integration, or similar aviation roles.

  • Proven background in technical project or program management, ideally including STC, modifications, or cabin reconfiguration projects.

  • Ability to interpret and develop engineering drawings, BOMs, technical reports, and certification documentation.

  • Demonstrated success working with airline customers, MROs, OEM partners, and cross-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft cabin systems, regulatory frameworks (FAA/EASA), and certification pathways.

  • Experience with cabin layout re-designs, seat-module integration, monument placement, IFE/PSU integration, or advanced interior systems.

  • Familiarity with digital design tools and product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
