Job description

Job Title: Site Safety Coordinator
Pay Range: $33–$36/ hour

Job Description:
The Site Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting accident prevention through education, intervention, and enforcement of safety regulations. This role serves as the on-site guide for compliance with federal, state, local, and company safety standards, including OSHA and EPA regulations. The coordinator ensures workplace safety through inspections, policy enforcement, employee communication, and maintaining up-to-date safety plans and documentation.

Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct new hire, site-specific safety orientations
• Enforce company safety policies, procedures, and COVID-19 guidelines
• Identify and stop unsafe acts and report hazards immediately
• Perform regular safety inspections and maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
• Maintain first aid supplies, safety equipment, and ensure proper training for equipment operators
• Monitor chemical safety, PPE usage, and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• Oversee safe operations including welding, cutting, spray finishing, and fall protection
• Ensure lockout/tagout procedures are followed and equipment is available
• Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and complete required reports
• Promote workplace cleanliness, organization, and fire prevention
• Train employees on safety procedures including respirator use and coordinate fit testing
• Assist visitors in complying with safety policies
• Plan for and manage emergency situations to minimize risk
• Increase safety awareness through ongoing communication and training
• Enforce disciplinary actions for safety violations with proper documentation

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or higher education
• CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain and maintain)
• Strong computer literacy and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and compliance standards
• Ability to train or coordinate training in forklift operations, crane operations, fall protection, and respiratory regulations
