Description
This position is to support the EHS department at the GA Plant in regards to environmental activities. This includes remaining compliant with all permits and regulations regarding environmental monitoring requirements.
The EHS Specialist is responsible for helping to enforce working conditions compliance with local and corporate occupational safety and health regulations and procedures. Responsibilities may include inspecting machinery, equipment and other working conditions in facility. Observe workers to determine use of prescribed and proper equipment, such as glasses, respirators, fall protection and clothing.
Responsibilities:
• Assist EHS manager and site leadership with implementation of corporate and site EHS initiatives and other activities as required to support local, state and federal compliance with applicable requirements.
• Assist with inspection of all facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determining corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and following up ensure measures have been implemented
• Assist with and/or help to maintain records of inspections and maintenance on safety equipment, environmental problems and testing and material safety data sheets
• Assist with and/or help to review and evaluate work areas and assist in the development of programs and procedures to help control, eliminate, and prevent injuries from chemical and physical factors.
• Prepares, maintains, and retrieves records, reports or documents that may be required to meet corporate or regulatory requirements including monitoring application of EHS standards as guided by EHS director.
• Collect monthly regenerative thermal oxidizer temperature & ensure that data meets Title V air permit requirements
• Conduct environmental compliance programs; storm water pollution prevention program & air quality
• Collect dust & volatile organic compound measurement of all plants, and assist with industrial hygiene testing and planning.
• Collect rainfall samples for total suspended level analysis for storm water annual report and conduct any other appropriate testing in regards to storm water.
• Report monthly Georgia Plant EHS activities to HQ EHS Korea, including translating and training if needed.
• Manage & Inspect hazardous waste storage area, along with scheduling disposal of haz-waste.
• Must be hazwoper certified.
• Manage GA Plant EHS Key Performance indicator that is evaluated by EHS HQ Korea and communicate with management of results.
• Assist SE Gate with maintenance team for investments that require more than $100k.
• Assist HQ Korea audit & follow up ensuring corrective actions are taken
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Bilingual in English and Korean a plus
• Previous experience with Hazardous waste, Storm water, and Air emissions.
