Join the Kline Team – Where You’re Not Just an Employee, You’re an Owner!

At Team Kline, we believe in building a workplace where YOU truly belong. When you join us, you become an employee owner, sharing in our success as we continue to grow and thrive. Since our humble beginnings in 2004, starting from a Des Moines garage, we’ve grown to nearly 400 team members across five locations: Des Moines, Waterloo, Cedar Rapids, Omaha, and Kansas City. We’ve expanded our services to include electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and more, creating exciting new opportunities for growth and career development!

Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Residential Apprentice Electrician to join our team. The Residential Apprentice Electrician takes on greater responsibilities, working closely with the Foreman to perform advanced electrical tasks. As a Residential Apprentice, you’ll enhance your skills in complex installations, troubleshooting, and project execution. Continued progress through the 4-year apprenticeship program is required, including tracking On-the-Job Training (OJT) hours and completing necessary coursework. If you're passionate about the electrical trade and want to build a career in residential electrical work, this is the perfect opportunity for you to gain hands-on experience and learn from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced electrical installations and repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Assist in leading small projects and guiding other apprentices on site.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain an organized job site.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions.
  • Accurately track OJT hours and complete all required apprenticeship coursework.
  • Support the Foreman in planning and executing projects.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Completion of Level 2 apprenticeship.
  • Reliable Transportation.
  • Proficiency in advanced electrical tasks.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
  • Prolonged standing and walking on various surfaces.
  • Frequent ladder use and work at heights.
  • Regular bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Frequent use of hands for tools and precision work.
  • Good vision and hearing required; use of PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is mandatory.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Safety Requirements:
  • Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and wear PPE as needed.
  • Report hazards and follow safe work practices.
Work Environment:
Indoors and outdoors in various settings, exposed to extreme weather, confined spaces, and high elevations.
  • Protective equipment is required in noisy, dusty, or hazardous environments.
  • Work may involve tight spaces and handling heavy tools.
  • Overtime, weekend, and emergency work may be required.
Why Join Team Kline?
We don’t just offer a job; we offer a chance to grow with a company that treats you like family. Here’s what’s waiting for you:
  • Benefits Galore: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, plus life and disability coverage.
  • Financial Security: 401k with company match, plus an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)—because here, you own a piece of the company.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous paid holidays, PTO, and paid time off to relax and recharge.
  • Training & Growth: Accredited on-site apprenticeship schooling and career development opportunities.
  • Fun Perks: Company outings, opportunities to win cash prizes, and a team environment like no other.
At Team Kline, we don’t just get the job done; we have fun while doing it. If you're ready to take the next step in your career with a company that values YOU and your contributions, then we can’t wait to meet you!
