Job description

SafeTech-USA, a division of SK AeroSafety Group, is actively seeking a Safety Equipment Component Maintenance Technician for our Inflatables shop in our aviation MRO facility located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to read and understand FAA manuals. The successful candidates will not only be responsible for testing and packing inflatable units but will also assist in other safety equipment repair shops throughout the facility as needed.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Component Maintenance Technician to join our growing MRO team. In this hands-on role, you will inspect, test, service, and repair a variety of aircraft components including evacuation slides, and survival rafts. On the Job Training will be provided for qualified applicants demonstrating an interest in entering the aviation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections, tests, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft safety equipment using OEM technical data, FAA/EASA regulations and company policy and procedures.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components and systems with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Conduct validation and verification testing of parts and assemblies.
  • Use specialized tools (e.g., torque wrenches, multimeters, mills, lathes) to diagnose and correct issues in mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain detailed records and complete electronic data entries for all maintenance activities.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and quality standards.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proficient in basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division (including fractions and decimals).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, maintenance manuals, and schematics.
  • Must be able to lift 50100 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and pulling.
  • Good eyesight, including color vision, and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory tracking.
  • Works well in team-based environments.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation which may include education, criminal and work history verifications.
  • US Citizen or resident status.
