Location: Atlanta, GA — Hybrid

Position Summary

Southern Company Services is seeking an experienced Agile Coach II to guide Agile teams, programs, and leadership across Technology, Business, and PMO functions. This role will support Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and hybrid delivery models while improving team maturity, delivery predictability, flow, transparency, and business value.

The Agile Coach will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Launch and optimize Agile teams, programs, and SAFe Agile Release Trains.
  • Coach senior leaders and delivery teams on Agile principles, frameworks, metrics, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Agile maturity, readiness, and team health assessments.
  • Develop Agile metrics and dashboards focused on flow, predictability, value realization, and team performance.
  • Align Agile delivery with PMO reporting, Clarity, portfolio management, funding, and governance processes.
  • Train and coach Product Owners, Scrum Masters, RTEs, and development teams.
  • Facilitate portfolio, program, and enterprise alignment discussions.
  • Identify and resolve organizational impediments, dependencies, and delivery risks.
  • Serve as a hands-on Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer when needed.
  • Administer Jira workflows, boards, backlogs, reports, dashboards, and integrations.
  • Support the Agile Community of Practice through workshops, training, and best-practice sharing.
  • Help teams operate successfully across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of technology delivery experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as an Agile Coach.
  • Active SAFe SPC certification.
  • Strong experience with SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile delivery.
  • Experience launching Agile teams and Agile Release Trains.
  • Advanced Jira administration, reporting, workflow, and dashboard experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile metrics, flow measurements, delivery predictability, and value realization.
  • Experience aligning Agile delivery with PMO, portfolio management, budgeting, forecasting, and governance.
  • Strong organizational change management experience.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, release management, dependency management, DevOps, CI/CD, and TDD.
  • Executive-level communication, facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Project, and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Agile Coach certification.
  • PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Utility industry experience.
