Job description

Job Summary

Sacred Heart Catholic Church is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Seasonal Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and care of parish facilities and grounds. This role assists with general maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for parishioners, staff, and visitors during peak seasons.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on parish buildings and equipment
  • Assist with groundskeeping, including mowing, trimming, landscaping, and seasonal clean-up
  • Set up and break down spaces for parish events, liturgies, and special functions
  • Monitor facilities for safety hazards and report or address issues as needed
  • Assist with basic custodial duties such as cleaning, trash removal, and upkeep of common areas
  • Support seasonal projects such as snow removal, leaf collection, or special maintenance tasks
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
  • Follow all safety protocols and parish guidelines while completing assigned tasks
Job Qualifications
  • Prior maintenance, custodial, or groundskeeping experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repair tools, and equipment operation
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take direction as needed
  • Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends if required
  • Commitment to supporting the mission and values of the Catholic Church
