Job description

The Administrative Specialist supports the Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition (SAF/AQ) organization, other PEOs as directed, and other Headquarters Air Force organizations where it is in the interest of the SAF/AQ to have an acquisition support presence within that organization. The objective is to provide specialized expertise to complement the organization’s inherent resources for effective and efficient mission accomplishment and continuity, introduction of innovation, and enhancement of technical competence. The contractor shall support the entire spectrum of acquisition and sustainment efforts as necessary to support the respective Government organizations. 

**This position is currently telework eligible due to COVID, with on-site work 4-5 days per week. When the Pentagon re-opens fully, this position may require more days on-site or 100% onsite. 

OBXtek has an open position for an Administrative Specialist, Junior on the prime contract for the Headquarters Air Force. The person will support Financial Management and Comptroller organization within the Air Force at the Pentagon. 

The tasks for this high visibility, fast-paced position include:

  • Scheduling meetings/conferences/etc. and updating and maintaining calendars
  • Tracking and reporting travel arrangements
  • Processing and distributing travel orders
  • Processing travel vouchers in Defense Travel System (DTS)
  • Setting-up and maintaining file plan
  • Engaging Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) members and external stakeholders on travel-related items
  • Tracking and reporting SAB member’s time worked, travel order status, travel voucher status, meeting and attendee status,
  • Creating, editing, and maintaining MS Access and SharePoint databases
  • Performing reconciliations between databases
  • Maintaining records and executing government administrative policies
  • Any other tasks closely associated with the performance of duties list above and as coordinated with the COR 

Qualifications:

Active Secret Clearance 

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. 6 years’ work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree or 4 years' work experience and an Associate's degree may be substituted for a Bachelors’ degree.

Experience:

  • 3 years administration experience in fast-paced, high visibility environment
  • Strong knowledge of JFTR travel and Privacy Act regulations
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Access and SharePoint
  • Strong attention to detail
