JOB SUMMARY
The Industrial Drive Automation Specialist is responsible for:
  • Designing systems that include but are not limited to drives, PLCs, and intelligent electronic devices.
  • Performing point-to-point wiring checks for electrical circuit testing.
  • Servicing, testing, and commissioning drives and other equipment for industrial automation projects.
  • Troubleshooting control circuits, communications systems, and protection systems for low-voltage drives.
  • Developing project documentation.
  • Providing customer training.
  • Supervising the installation of drives and other equipment for industrial automation projects.
  • Delivering accurate and timely work.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Electrical Power or 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to read prints and control/protection schemes.
  • Proficient computer, phone, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to work on a flexible schedule based on client/customer needs.
  • Simultaneously execute multiple projects
  • Utilize the L&S Electric ISO system to ensure quality products and services.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Display a positive can-do attitude.
  • Fluent in the English language
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 25% to 30% national and local travel with overnight stay.
  • On-call duty is required, approximately six times per year.
  • Home office in Wausau, WI.

• Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and weekends to meet customer service requirements.
DESIRABLE:
  • Prior experience in a similar position
  • Electrical, mechanical, and software aptitude
  • Experience with electrical control panels

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, crawling, and reaching frequently.
  • Occasional lifting of heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Must be able to adhere to applicable safety practices for the site.
  • Uneven or slippery walking surfaces.
  • Able to wear proper PPE (i.e. hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hat, etc.).
