Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an Instructor, Electrical Line Technician in the Electrical Systems Technology Program . The position involves delivering effective instruction to help students develop Electric Line Worker Technician skills, program development, recruitment, maintaining records, attending training sessions, ensuring cleanliness of instructional areas, and other duties as assigned
Examples of Duties
  • Deliver effective instruction that uses a variety of instructional techniques to assist students in developing Electric Line worker Technician skills.?
  • Assist with program development, improvement, evaluation and recruitment.?
  • Assist with selection of textbooks, instructional materials, equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain inventory and submit requisitions for the ordering of supplies.?
  • Assist in recruiting activities and cultivate relationships with appropriate local utility industry representatives to ensure program success.?
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and accessible files and records, daily attendance, and other paperwork and reports as requested and in a timely manner.
  • Must complete all mandatory work related and professional development training.
  • Attend state and regional training for implementation at local level.?
  • Maintains updated syllabi and other course documents that reflect expected student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain regular, appropriate, professional communication with students.?
  • Ensure cleanliness of instructional areas.
  • Participate in departmental activities relative to revising and updating the program(s) in the area of expertise.
  • Meet with Dean, Business & Entrepreneurship and Information Technology to discuss program outcomes, directives, and other relevant issues regarding the program.
  • Maintain current licensure, certification, or other credentials required for position.
  • Assist with student information sessions and or orientation sessions
Accept other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and holds a current?CDL?license.
Work Experience:
Minimum 8 years' experience as an electric line worker or a minimum of 3 years as an electric line worker journeyman

Normal Working Hours:
40-hour work week as determined with the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include occasional evening and weekend hours.
