Job description

RV Service Advisor

Four Seasons RV – Abilene, Kansas
Full-Time | On-Site

Build a Career Helping People Enjoy the RV Lifestyle

Four Seasons RV is looking for an experienced, organized, customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team at our Abilene, Kansas location.

We are a family-owned and operated RV dealership with multiple locations in Kansas, and we believe our employees and our customers should be treated like people—not numbers.

The Service Advisor is one of the most important positions in our dealership. You will be the primary connection between our customers and our service department, helping customers understand what is happening with their RV while coordinating with technicians, parts personnel, warranty staff and service management to keep repairs moving.

If you are a great communicator, highly organized, comfortable with computers, able to handle multiple priorities and enjoy being part of a team, we want to talk with you.

What You’ll Do

As an RV Service Advisor, you will help manage the customer’s service experience from the initial appointment through final pickup.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet customers and professionally discuss their RV service and repair concerns.
  • Listen carefully and accurately document each customer’s concerns on the repair order.
  • Schedule service appointments and help manage the daily service workload.
  • Maintain accurate customer, RV and repair information in our dealership management system.
  • Review repair orders and make sure customer concerns are clearly documented for technicians.
  • Communicate with technicians, the Shop Foreman, Parts Department, Warranty Department and Service Manager throughout the repair process.
  • Prepare and communicate repair estimates to customers.
  • Obtain customer authorization before approved work is performed.
  • Provide customers with timely and professional updates regarding the status of their RV.
  • Follow up on parts orders, backorders and other items that may delay completion.
  • Communicate changes in estimated completion dates as soon as they become known.
  • Document customer approvals, declined repairs, conversations and repair status accurately in the computer.
  • Help ensure completed work has gone through the appropriate quality-control process before customer pickup.
  • Review completed repairs and charges with customers in a clear, professional manner.
  • Help identify additional maintenance or repair needs when appropriate.
  • Work closely with the entire service team to improve productivity, customer satisfaction and department performance.
  • Maintain organized and accurate repair orders throughout the entire service process.
  • Follow up with customers after service when appropriate.
  • Help create the kind of service experience that earns repeat customers and referrals.
What We’re Looking For

The right person for this position does not simply answer phones and write repair orders. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of the customer experience.

Excellent Communication Skills

You must be able to communicate professionally with customers, technicians, managers and coworkers.

That includes being comfortable having conversations when repairs are delayed, additional work is discovered or a customer has a concern.

We believe customers should receive communication before they have to call us asking for an update.

Strong Computer Skills

This position requires frequent computer use throughout the day.

You should be comfortable learning and working with:

  • Dealership management software
  • Repair orders
  • Customer records
  • Email
  • Text communication
  • Scheduling systems
  • Parts and service information
  • Microsoft Office or similar business software

Accurate documentation is a major part of this job.

Organization and Follow-Through

Our Service Advisors may have multiple customers, technicians, repair orders, estimates, parts orders and approvals in progress at the same time.

You need to be able to prioritize work, maintain accurate notes and follow an issue through to completion.

Teamwork

Service Advisors do not work alone.

You will work closely with our technicians, Shop Foreman, Parts Department, Warranty Department, Service Manager, Sales Department and other dealership employees.

We are looking for someone who wants the entire department to succeed—not someone who believes, “That’s not my job.”

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Service Advisor, Service Writer or customer service experience preferred.
  • Automotive, RV, powersports, marine, equipment or dealership service experience is a plus.
  • RV industry experience is helpful but not required for the right candidate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple customers and repair orders simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with customers in both positive and challenging situations.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn RV systems, terminology and repair processes.
  • Dependable attendance and professional conduct.
What We Offer

Four Seasons RV offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes:

  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Holidays and other applicable employee benefits
  • Employee purchasing opportunities and dealership benefits where applicable
  • Training and opportunities to grow within the company
  • A stable, family-owned business
  • A team-oriented working environment
  • Opportunities for advancement as our company continues to grow
Why Four Seasons RV?

Four Seasons RV has built its business around long-term relationships with our customers and our employees.

We are family owned and operated, with multiple dealership locations in Kansas, and our owners and managers are actively involved in the business.

We believe great customer service starts with great employees.

That means giving employees clear expectations, the tools they need to succeed, opportunities to improve their skills and the ability to build a career rather than simply fill a position.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to become an important part of a growing Kansas RV dealership.

The Person Who Will Succeed Here

You may be a great fit if you are the type of person who:

  • Likes talking with customers.
  • Returns phone calls and messages.
  • Doesn’t let things fall through the cracks.
  • Enjoys solving problems.
  • Keeps good notes.
  • Is comfortable using technology.
  • Can remain professional when a customer is frustrated.
  • Communicates problems instead of hiding them.
  • Likes working with technicians and other departments.
  • Takes ownership of getting things completed.
  • Understands that excellent communication is just as important as the repair itself.

You do not necessarily need years of RV experience if you have the communication skills, organization, computer ability and willingness to learn that this position requires.

Experience from automotive dealerships, equipment dealers, powersports dealerships, marine dealerships, service businesses or other customer-facing repair environments may transfer very well to this position.
