Currently hiring for 12 hour shifts - 7am - 7 pm and 7 pm - 7 am.  100% employer paid retirement through the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (State of TN retirement plan), paid holidays after 90 days of hire.  Check us out for more details!  PRN $24.75
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse with current state license
  • Excellent technical, assessment, and documentation skills
  • Good leadership qualities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and details in work performance
  • Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility
  • Comply with Residents' Rights and Facility Policies and Procedures
  • Perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below
  • Perform Essential Duties as outlined below
Work Environment
  • Deal with residents, personnel, families, and visitors under varying conditions
  • Fast paced, required to make decisions quickly
Essential Duties
  • Supervise the functions of the nursing personnel in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Assistant Director of Nursing.
  • Make daily rounds on each wing to monitor resident care and status of residents.
  • Implement resident care plans in compliance with physician's orders.
  • Implement established nursing policies and procedures, educating nursing support staff according to facility guidelines.
  • Assign duties to Nursing Assistants as directed.
  • Handle and report family and resident complaints that occur during your tour of duty in the absence of the Director of NurSing, Assistant Director of Nursing, and Administrator.
  • Document in resident's chart pertinent information about significant change in resident's condition, two week summaries, and quarterly summaries.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, complying with infection control and body mechanic procedures.
  • Supervise and perform treatments or venipunctures, as needed.
  • Monitor specific quality assurance areas as directed by the Director of Nursing.
  • Give medications and procedures per MAR
  • Audit nursing charts as instructed by Director of Nursing.
  • Attend monthly educational in-service programs in order to meet facility educational requirements.
  • Assist with in-service for CNTs.
  • Stock nursing supplies, order medications and stock.
  • Other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing.

  • Obtain skin test and/or X-ray.
  • Deal effectively with staff, residents, families, superiors, and government representatives in a professional manner.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of facility's operations and physical layout.
