Job description

About Casa Nela
Casa Nela believes that the growth of our organization starts with prioritizing our employees’ personal and professional growth. Our team is committed to seeking out ways to improve themselves, the community, the business we are building, and the people around them.
Here at Casa Nela, we are passionate about amazing culinary experiences, spirited hospitality, creative design, urban farming and our supportive communities that surround our restaurants. We operate Roey's, Bobo, Rosemary's West, Rosemary's East, and Rosemary’s Midtown, as well as our newest/reopened location - Claudette.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate Front of House Manager to join our leadership team at Bobo. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on the restaurant floor, leads by example, develops great people, and is committed to creating memorable guest experiences. You'll partner closely with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, coach and develop the Front of House team, and ensure operational excellence every shift.

What’s in it for you:

  • Competitive Salary ($70,000–$85,000)
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Company-Funded Commuter Benefits ($132 per month)
  • 6th Day Bonus Pay for Managers
  • Monthly Cell Phone Reimbursement
  • Paid Time Off
  • 401(k)
  • Monthly and Semi-Annual Bonus Opportunities
  • Employee Dining Discounts
  • Opportunities for Career Growth within Casa Nela

Where will you be:
Occupying several floors of a breathtakingly designed 1930s West Village townhouse, Bobo transports guests to a French country home, where a meal of rustic classics like coq au vin and tarte tatin always begin with Champagne and cocktails.

Bobo opened in 2007 to crowds clamoring to enjoy its decadent styling and dinner party atmosphere. The restaurant has grown to become a West Village staple known for classic French country cooking, expertly made cocktails, and neighborly hospitality - a hallmark of other Casa Nela restaurants, which include Rosemary’s, Claudette and Roey’s.

Like its sister restaurants, Bobo embraces its residential setting, paying homage to La Maison de Campagne - a neighborhood restaurant inspired by nature and by family. The restaurant's natural French country decor unfolds over several floors and rooms, from the downstairs bar to the parlor level dining room, year-round garden and jewel-box Coco bar.

Bobo is well known for hosting elegant private events and has a variety of rooms fit for a range of occasions, from weddings to bridal showers, corporate dinners to birthday celebrations, even fashion shows to product launches.

The restaurant's cellar offers French wines from small and interesting producers alongside more well known houses, with a selection of excellent wines for everyday drinking. The bar's seasonal cocktail lists have been celebrated since the opening in 2007, and today focus on using French products in novel ways to create modern classics like the Épice Margarita.

What you'll do:
As FOH Manager, you'll play an integral role in the daily success of the restaurant by:

  • Leading the dining room with an active floor presence, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and seamless service
  • Partnering with the management team to uphold Casa Nela's hospitality and operational standards
  • Leading pre-shift meetings that inspire, educate, and prepare the team for success
  • Opening and closing the restaurant while maintaining consistency in service and execution
  • Maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with all Department of Health regulations
  • Managing dining room inventories including china, glassware, silverware, linens, and smallwares
  • Assisting with POS updates, menu changes, and employee onboarding
  • Training, coaching, and developing Front of House staff while fostering a positive, accountable culture
  • Recruiting and mentoring hospitality professionals who share our commitment to excellence
  • Supporting payroll processes, labor management, scheduling, and budget goals
  • Building relationships with neighborhood guests while helping grow our CRM program
  • Ensuring promotions, seasonal initiatives, and marketing materials are effectively executed in the restaurant
  • Managing cash handling procedures and maintaining compliance with all applicable NYC regulations

What we're Looking for:

The ideal candidate is a thoughtful, energetic leader who enjoys developing people as much as delighting guests.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing labor costs, budgets, and daily financial responsibilities
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering memorable guest experiences
  • Comfortable using restaurant technology including Toast POS, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and scheduling platforms
  • Ability to remain calm, organized, and positive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
