EXECUTIVE CHEF - RUSTIC ROOT (GASLAMP)

Salary | Full-Time | $90,000–$120,000

We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on Executive Chef to lead all culinary operations at Rustic Root Gaslamp. This role is ideal for an experienced kitchen leader who excels in menu development, team mentorship, operational excellence, and financial performance while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

What It Takes to Succeed

  • Lead and oversee all BOH operations, culinary execution, and kitchen performance
  • Develop menus, seasonal features, and creative culinary programs aligned with brand standards
  • Manage food costs, labor, inventory, purchasing, and overall kitchen profitability
  • Train, mentor, and develop BOH leadership teams and culinary staff
  • Ensure consistency, quality, presentation, and food safety standards across all service periods
  • Drive revenue through menu analysis, promotions, and operational efficiencies
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and ongoing culinary training programs
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, health regulations, and safety standards
  • Collaborate with management teams on events, marketing initiatives, and revenue-driving programs
  • Create a positive, organized, and high-performing kitchen culture

Education amp; Experience

  • 3–4+ years of senior culinary management experience in restaurants, hospitality, or private events
  • Strong understanding of food cost controls, labor management, and kitchen financials
  • Experience leading high-volume culinary teams and multi-outlet operations preferred
  • ServSafe certification preferred; Food Handler Card required (or ability to obtain)
  • Bachelor’s degree, culinary education, or equivalent experience considered
