About the Role:
The Maintenance Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of industrial equipment and facilities within the organization. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery. The Maintenance Engineer collaborates closely with operations and safety teams to implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies that comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. By analyzing equipment performance data and troubleshooting technical issues, the engineer contributes to optimizing maintenance processes and improving overall plant reliability. Ultimately, this role supports the organization's operational goals by maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-effective maintenance program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, maintenance, automation, or industrial environments
- Strong mechanical aptitude (machining concepts, fabrication, bearings, drives, gearboxes, etc.)
- Solid electrical knowledge (AC/DC systems, panels, motors, sensors, relays)
- Comfortable working across disciplines — mechanic, electrician, controls tech, and IT
- Experience supporting non-standard, custom, or prototype equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience with industrial mechanical and mechatronic systems
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, controls, sensors, pneumatics, and automation equipment
- Familiarity with software and basic IT/network troubleshooting related to manufacturing equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced industrial environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Such as diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control systems
- Troubleshoot software- and firmware-related issues impacting equipment performance
- Interface with IT systems as needed
- Read, interpret, schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation
- Install, modify, and commission new equipment and prototypes
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance
- Perform preventative maintenance and root-cause failure analysis
- Maintain compliance with SAFETY, electrical, and manufacturing standards
- Perform as needed, general facility maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair non-automated electrical equipment.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Must be able to safely work at ground level and at heights using ladders and scissor lifts
- Ability to work in dusty, non-climate-controlled environments indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials up to 70 lbs
- Ability to use arms, legs, and full-body movement throughout the workday while maintaining safety standards
