Dispatcher- Russian Speaking

Job Summary

Ensures smooth transportation operations by preparing schedules for drivers and translators, notifying them about schedule changes, and triaging client calls.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Incoming Calls - Accept current client requests for service, and schedule service, or refer client to appropriate supportive service.
  • Data Entry - Enter data into computer system accurately and immediately when requests are made.
  • Scheduling - Prepare and adjust schedules for drivers and translators that meet client needs and conform to department scheduling standards, while notifying them of any changes as they occur.
  • Training - Maintain professional knowledge by attending agency in-service programs and participating in Trapeze on-line trainings and seminars
  • Security and Privacy –Adhere to agency and client protection policies by regularly acclimating yourself with the JFS privacy, safety and security policies made available within the employee handbook.
  • Employee Philanthropy –Participate annually in agency and partner related philanthropic activities and campaigns.
  • Mission Dedication –Embody the mission and values of JFS in all work done on behalf of the agency. Utilization of the JFS key strategies will ensure success in this accountability.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years transportation program experience and bilingual fluency in English and Russian languages.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Communication – Provide excellent customer service to internal staff, clients, partner agencies, police officers, and 911 operators as needed.
  • Technology - Must be able to operate department communication system and devices (GPS, Phones, Computers (Microsoft Office & Internal Transportation Systems).
  • Decision Making - Deal with abstract as well as concrete and complex problematic situations; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Knowledge

  • Geographic Knowledge - Be familiar with Greater Detroit road and address systems.
