About the Job
As an Assistant Stylist at Rent the Runway, you are the backbone of our visual production. You will work on the front lines of our Bushwick Style Studio, supporting our lead stylists to ensure every garment looks its best before it hits the site. From managing the flow of high-end inventory to keeping our sets organized and efficient, your work directly impacts the quality of our e-commerce imagery.
We are looking for a high-energy individual who is as meticulous about organization as they are passionate about fashion. You'll be responsible for maintaining the styling space, prepping samples, and ensuring that our fast-paced studio environment runs efficiently.
What You'll Do
  • On-Set Support: Partner with stylists on set to steam, prep, and organize clothing rails for daily high-volume photoshoots (both On-Form and On-Model).
  • Sample Management: Work hand-in-hand with the Samples team to ensure all stock is accounted for, styles are prepped ahead of schedule, and styling decks are completed on time.
  • Space & Inventory Stewardship: Maintain a pristine styling closet and set area. You will be responsible for the "after-care" of our products-ensuring items are returned to sample coordinators in perfect condition and properly tracked.
  • Workflow Optimization: Collaborate with Production and Studio Managers to identify workflow bottlenecks and help implement improvements to studio efficiency.
  • Creative Versatility: Assist on ad-hoc projects including social media content, editorial shoots, and other brand initiatives that support the broader business goals.
  • Problem Solving: Actively communicate with the Samples team to resolve any inventory discrepancies and address studio challenges in real-time.
About You
  • Experience: You have at least 6+ months of experience as a styling assistant or in a similar fast-paced studio environment.
  • Fashion Savvy: You possess a deep passion for the industry and a strong working knowledge of designers, trends, and garment construction.
  • The "Can-Do" Mindset: You are a team player who is happy to "wear many hats." You show initiative, aren't afraid to ask questions, and thrive under the pressure of a busy set.
  • Tech Literate: You are comfortable using Google Sheets, Slides, and Docs to track inventory and manage creative decks.
  • Reliable & Proactive: You have an excellent work ethic and the ability to anticipate the needs of the lead stylist before they even ask.
