Job description

About HUD
HUD is building infrastructure to create RL training data and evals for frontier AI agents, as well as a marketplace to sell these to frontier labs through the HUD marketplace. Our platform is used by frontier labs, Fortune 500 companies, and startups. We've raised $15M from top VCs and were YC W25.
About the role
We're hiring a Marketing & Events Lead to tell HUD's story. In particular, you'll highlight how our marketplace model surfaces data that otherwise would not have access to frontier labs and enterprises and why we believe the future of RL training should be open.
Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the overall marketing strategy and content calendar
  • Lead social media presence on Twitter/X and LinkedIn to grow our audience, engagement, and inbound interest
  • Ghostwrite high-quality content for founders that tell HUD's story, communicate product vision and insights, and showcases wins on the platform
  • Translate complex, technical product concepts into clear, compelling narratives for a technical audience
  • Develop and refine HUD's voice, positioning, and storytelling across channels
  • Experiment with different formats (e.g., posts, short-form video, memes) and double down on what works
  • Identify high-leverage opportunities to show up at events where the target audience already is (e.g., conferences, hackathons, technical communities)
  • Plan and run high-quality, memorable events that reinforce brand and generate pipeline
  • Support the founders and team with event presence (e.g., talks)
Experience
You may be a good fit if you have:
  • Genuine excitement about frontier models and telling HUD's story
  • Experience in marketing, content, or community roles in startups
  • A strong track record of growing social accounts or company branding
  • A portfolio of writing that showcases your ability
  • Evidence that you can understand technical products well enough to explain them simply and accurately
  • Experience planning and running events
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to own multiple workstreams
  • Early-stage startup experience with ability to work independently in fast-paced environments

Strong candidates may also have:
  • Experience marketing AI/ML, developer tools, or technical platforms
  • A standout portfolio of writing, social content, or campaigns
  • Experience running events, meetups, or community programs end-to-end
  • Strong network within the RL researcher, RL engineer, and broader startup communities
  • Familiarity with analytics tools and growth strategies for social and content
  • A clear point of view on how great technical companies tell stories and build brand

We prioritize technical aptitude and learning potential over years of experience. Motivated candidates are encouraged to apply even if they don't meet all criteria.
Team & company details
  • Team Size: ~15 people currently, mostly full-time in-person, but some remote.
  • Our team: Our team includes 4 International Olympiad medalists (IOI, ILO, IPhO), serial AI startup founders, and researchers with publications at ICLR, NeurIPS, etc.
  • Company stage: We have 8 figures in funding and high revenue growth. We're scaling profitably and quickly to meet very strong demand.
Logistics
  • Employment: Full-time.
  • Location: On-site in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Visa Sponsorship: We provide support for relocation and visas for strong full-time candidates to the US.
  • Timeline: Applications are rolling. The process is 2 technical interviews and a 2-3 day work trial.
What we offer
  • Competitive compensation
  • 100% covered top-of-the-line medical, dental, and vision from Blue Shield of CA
  • Lunch and dinner when you're in the office
  • Company-wide holiday break (Christmas Eve to New Year's Day) on top of PTO and paid holidays
  • Other perks including an Equinox membership, 401k, and commuter benefits
  • Unlimited* access to tokens for ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, etc. *By unlimited, we mean no one on our token usage leaderboard has ever hit a limit. So we have no idea what the limit is.

Due to high volume, we may not actively respond to every application, but feel free to contact us at recruiting@hud.so or elsewhere if we missed your application!
