Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Clinical/Pediatric Psychologist to join the Division of Pediatric Psychology in a unique split-role opportunity combining therapeutic school-based care and outpatient psychological assessment services. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative academic medical center dedicated to innovative pediatric behavioral health care.  

Position Highlights

 •1. 0 FTE faculty appointment 

•Anticipated academic rank: Assistant Professor (or higher based on experience) 

•Three days/week at Rush Day School (RDS)

 •Two days/week in outpatient pediatric assessment clinic 

•Opportunity to participate in teaching, supervision, program development, and research 

•Start date negotiable 

Position Details 

Rush Day School Responsibilities (3 Days/Week) 

Rush Day School (RDS) is a therapeutic K–8 school affiliated with Rush University Medical Center serving students with complex psychiatric, developmental, behavioral, and academic needs. Clinical responsibilities include:

 •Provide individual, group, and family therapy 

•Conduct psychological evaluations for diagnostic clarification and IEP support 

•Oversee academic testing and interpret educational data

 •Provide consultation and clinical support to teachers and school staff 

•Participate as an active member of the therapeutic milieu 

•Consult with outside school districts and community partners 

•Support program development and research initiatives

 •Supervise predoctoral psychology residents, psychiatry fellows, and medical students (as interested) 

Outpatient Pediatric Psychology Responsibilities (2 Days/Week) 

The Division of Pediatric Psychology provides comprehensive assessment and consultation services across inpatient and outpatient settings and supports an APA-accredited predoctoral internship program. Responsibilities include: 

•Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations for youth ages 5–18 

•Establish diagnoses and treatment recommendations

 •Provide supervision to psychology residents in the outpatient assessment clinic 

Qualifications 

Qualified candidates must have: 

•Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD) 

•Completion of an APA-accredited internship 

•Fellowship training in Clinical Child Psychology or Pediatric Psychology

 •Illinois licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois 

•Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with pediatric populations 

Preferred Qualifications: 

•Experience conducting autism evaluations 

•Experience working with children with complex psychiatric and developmental presentations 

•Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration, supervision, and academic medicine

Rush Day School serves approximately 32 students in grades K–8 during the regular and extended school year. Students commonly present with: 

•Trauma exposure

 •Autism spectrum disorder 

•Bipolar disorder and psychosis 

•Anxiety and depression 

•ADHD and behavioral disorders 

•Learning disorders and multiple comorbidities 

The program’s mission is to help students transition successfully back to less restrictive educational environments with appropriate support and accommodations.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package. 

Pay Range: $114,000 - $147,000 (TCC)
