Job description

The Honeywell Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) business provides efficient, customizable, and sustainable liquefaction solutions, combining proven technology with decades of experience in LNG equipment manufacture and operation.  LNG's equipment is designed by our engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL, or other domestic and international third-party facilities. Our customers utilize this equipment to liquefy extracted natural gas, significantly enhancing its transportability as an energy source to end users globally.
 

The Sr Advanced Application Engineer role will be in based in our Honeywell LNG Headquarters located in Allentown, PA.  You will be part of the Manufacturing and Design Engineering (MDE) organization which is responsible for mechanical engineering and fabrication of vessels, piping, structures, and control and I&E systems, but you will support the entire LNG business.
 

This role will focus on LNG's continued development of engineering support programs and integration into Honeywell's technical design automation suite.  You will collaborate across Honeywell technology divisions to ensure a consistent and harmonized approach for LNG design tools and engineering IT architecture.  The role will own and lead LNG's ongoing integration with Honeywell's corporate-wide engineering user interface, Artificial Intelligence tools, and end-to-end project controls suite managing schedule, progress tracking, parts management, document management, and third-party engagement.  You will ensure successful roll out and adoption of these platforms by all LNG teams, serving as LNG single point of contact and managing training, troubleshooting, and long-term improvements to the system.
 

The position requires occasional domestic and international travel.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the integration and automation of business and engineering tools to support LNG project design processes, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and organizational performance.
  • Analyze and translate strategic business requirements into a tactical, architectural blueprint that defines solutions and ensures integration across different applications, systems and platforms.
  • Lead LNG transition to Siemens Suite (Teamcenter, Rulestream, Polarion / DRIM), coordinating system design, testing, and rollout between Enterprise IT, LNG internal end users, and other Honeywell technology divisions.
  • Manage LNG integration and automation of third-party design software (e.g., Solidworks, Smartplant 3D), internally developed design tools, and PLM platforms.
  • Manage LNG user assessment, acceptance testing, and adoption for future customizations and application enhancements.
  • Collaborate with LNG users and subject matter experts to develop standardized procedures, streamline processes, and minimize redundancy or bottlenecks for standard activities.
  • Partner with LNG users and application developers to scope and implement new platform and system features.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics with QA/QC team to report on process health, data integrity, and organizational performance.
  • Facilitate software and platform change management initiatives to minimize business disruptions during updates.
  • Continuously manage LNG user onboarding, training, and system troubleshooting to ensure consistency and maximize business efficiency.
  • Receive, log, categorize, prioritize, and track incidents reported by users or detected.  Monitor the progress of incident resolution, escalate unresolved or critical incidents according to predefined procedures, and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a central point of contact and coordination for incident and defect management activities, ensuring clear communication and collaboration among stakeholders.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) platform and system specification, functional development, testing, user training, rollout, and ongoing maintenance/operational management
  • Experience in writing technical documentation for PLM platform deployments and training (specifications, training literature, user manuals, etc)
  • Knowledge of processes and methods of project management
  • Experience in project planning and control
  • Knowledge of agile methods, Scrum, SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, JIRA
