Job description

We sell to a broad base of customers in industries such as electronic component and equipment manufacturers, chemical manufacturers, water & waste treatment, metal finishing, pollution control and life sciences companies. www.rhfs.com 

Basic Function:
To oversee and purchase products and materials cost effectively for the branches within the region, while maintaining a balance of inventory in relation to sales.
 
Essential Responsibilities/Duties:
        Purchases and controls inventory of all products for Branch Office.
        Checks stock and replenishes as needed.
        Continually monitors (non-moving) items.
        Accounts for and reacts quickly to all backorders and transfers while maintaining minimal lead time.
        Reviews ROR (Recommended Order Reports) and makes decisions on orders and quantities.
        Line Buy Maintenance follow-up weekly.
        Continually follows strategic inventory plan, watching for trends.
        Scrutinizes transfers and purchase order variances.
        Reconciles Accounts Payable and Purchase Order reports, checking for accuracy.
        Negotiates pricing and maintains relationships with vendors.
        Continually utilizes sourcing techniques to obtain better pricing, material, etc.
        Performs purchase order acknowledgement, follow-up and expediting duties, as necessary
        Continually maintains relationship with Sales Department.
        All other duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
        3-5 years Purchasing experience or college degree in Supply Chain Management with internship
        Product/plastics industry knowledge a plus
        Experience on computerized purchasing system
        Extremely detail oriented and organized
        Strong negotiating expertise
        Excellent communication to include vendors & inside staff (Warehouse, Sales and Management)
        Ability to prioritize and make decisions
        Strong interpersonal skills
        College degree preferred; some college/AA Degree required
 
Required Skills:
        Strong math aptitude
        Microsoft Office suit experience computer skills
