The Advanced Effector Guidance Systems (AEGS) Department within Raytheon Hardware Engineering provides Electrical Systems Engineering to develop Electronic Systems solutions for products across the Raytheon portfolio. Our core electrical engineering responsibilities include architecture, requirements, integration, and test. Our core electrical engineering technologies include RF/RADAR, Navigation/IMU/GPS, Data Link/Communication, Digital, and Power. We partner with several Electrical Product Team departments that provide the detailed design of our electrical products as well as systems teams.
The AEGS Department is searching for a Proprietary Development Program Chief Engineer (CE) to lead the program technical execution focused on guidance and sensor technologies in Tucson, AZ. This onsite role requires engagement with a multidisciplinary engineering team and plays a critical role in program leadership. The CE has is responsible for ensuring that all team leaders meet their schedule and technical needs. This role will include Estimate at Complete (EAC) responsibilities, so Earned Value (EV) certification is required, and the candidate is expected to already have or be able to obtain at least a Level 5 EV certification.
What You Will Do
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams through design, test, and verification phases, including ground and flight testing, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met.
  • Influence SW/HW architecture, establish processes, and align program leadership, office of the chief engineer, and multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Provide program leadership to IPTs and collaborative partners from Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain.
  • Mentor and guide team members.
  • Apply extensive experience in task leadership, system-level integration, and verification.
  • Manage and allocate system requirements across hardware and software components.
  • Lead formal engineering reviews, including Configuration Review Boards.
  • Implement systems engineering principles and practices throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Identify and manage critical items and technologies in product development.
  • Develop and review technical documentation, including engineering plans and reports.
  • Support programmatic focus areas including Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews, proposal costing, leadership reviews, staffing projections, and monthly metrics tracking.
  • Work environment is primarily in an office, but may include labs, field work, or a combination.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • RF product and subassembly design, integration, and production support
  • Analog, digital, and power electronics design, integration, and production support
  • Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
  • Experience in RF sub-systems, systems engineering, requirement development, requirement validation, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design, RF Test Integration (including RF Test Solutions), and/or RF Supplier Management on an effector-based product
  • Business Acumen, Communication Skills, Earned Value Management, Risks and Opportunity Management
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Ability to obtain Special Access Program Access.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
