The Principal Engineer supports QVC and leads the design, evolution, and delivery of modern software platforms. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with 15+ years of experience across UX, web applications, APIs, backend systems, databases, and mobile technologies.

Where You'll Work

This role is remote; job seekers must reside in one of the following states to be considered: PA, DE, NJ. This role may require you to be on site at our West Chester, PA location.

What You'll Do

  • Define and drive architecture for core platforms and strategic initiatives.

  • Lead design of complex, scalable, business-critical systems.

  • Evaluate tradeoffs across performance, scalability, security and maintainability.

  • Guide modernization efforts, platform consolidation, and technology evolution.

  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

  • Be a trusted technical advisor across web, UX, backend, and platform teams.

  • Support platform interoperability and enterprise-wide technical consistency.

  • Mentor engineers and technical leaders across the organization.

  • Enhance engineering quality through code and architectural reviews.

What You'll Bring

  • 15+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex systems

  • Expertise in modern frontend development: TypeScript, React, Next.js

  • Experience building scalable web applications and UX-focused solutions

  • Experience with APIs, backend services, and databases (SQL/NoSQL)

  • Backend experience: Node.js, Python, or Java

  • Exposure to mobile development (iOS, Android, or cross-platform)

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

  • CI/CD, DevOps practices, and observability tools
