The Manufacturing Engineer role is responsible for preparing and supporting the AP2 factory for the Front Load Washer Program. In this role, the Manufacturing Engineer will develop, manage, and execute supporting documents, projects, and operational readiness related to the launch and production of the AP2 HA Washer Factory. The Manufacturing Engineer will act as a primary liaison for the AP2 factory and the development and support of equipment, tools, and operations. This position will primarily focus on the areas of Sheet Metal Transfer Stamping. This position will be a core team support member for safety, cost-saving, operational improvement, and quality KPI's while driving continuous improvement throughout the facility. This position is 100% Onsite.PositionPrincipal Manufacturing Engineer - StampingLocationUSA, Louisville, KYHow You'll Create Possibilities

Manufacturing Operations:

  • Technical factory representative for all processes, cross-functional team meetings, and design reviews for all transfer stamping presses and auxiliary equipment
  • Creation of Standardized work, Maintenance Procedures, TPM Checksheets, and training documents for each process and equipment (collaborating with each equipment OEM).
  • Establishing initial operational budgets for each equipment/process and area.
  • Development and supporting member of creating KPI tracking tools, AI implementation, and hardware with DT Support.
  • Preparation of each manufacturing and process area for factory operations readiness
  • Use and utilization of problem-solving techniques (8D, A3, 5-Why) to propose and support KPI related projects throughout the AP2 factory.
  • Support role for materials layout and AMR strategy with the AP2 Materials Team.
  • Cross-functional team member for supporting factory-wide KPI initiatives and projects.
  • Support role and Point-of-Contact for incoming Maintenance team regarding incoming new equipment. Developing and collaborating preventative maintenance procedures with TPM and Maintenance Team.
  • Support role for all transfer stamping die maintenance and cross functional team member with contract die maintenance team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical / electrical / manufacturing engineering, business or scientific-related field.
  • 5-7 years' experience in an engineering role working with automated manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems.
  • Leadership experience or technical proficiency in areas such as manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, materials management, quality, procurement, or fulfillment.
  • Experience with large tonnage modern transfer stamping equipment, sheet feeders, part unload systems, and metal scrap conveyor systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering working with advanced automated stamping manufacturing equipment, processes, and production systems.
  • Extensive experience leading or working with metal fabrication, component fastening, or automated equipment operations.
  • Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting/diagnostic experience
  • Six Sigma certification preferred, with strong knowledge of Lean, DMAIC, and other improvement methodologies.
  • Track record of driving results through analytical methods, project scheduling, and teamwork.

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for both an office and manufacturing environments.
  • Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 25 pounds.
  • Working in the manufacturing environment requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, work shoes/boots.
  • Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Work will include walking and standing for extended periods, using stairs, cross-overs and ladders.
  • Up to 30% of travel required for international and domestic travel to plants, suppliers, etc.
