Job description

We are looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join our development team and help maintain, improve, and build features for an existing Rails application.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently in
an established codebase, troubleshooting production issues, developing new
features, and working with modern Rails applications.
Required Skills

  • Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, preferably Rails 7 and/or Rails 8
  • Strong knowledge of Ruby
  • Experience working with Git and GitHub
  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications on Heroku
  • Experience with background processing such as Sidekiq
  • Experience with Stimulus, Turbo, and Bootstrap
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
  • Comfortable working in an existing Rails codebase and understanding existing
    application architecture
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern Rails front-end tools
  • Experience working with APIs and third-party integrations
    Preferred / Plus Skills
  • PostgreSQL experience
  • Experience with AWS services and cloud environments
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, or CloudWatch
  • Experience upgrading or maintaining Rails applications across major Rails versions

    We're looking for someone who can jump into an existing Rails application and start being productive quickly. You should be comfortable investigating problems, reading existing code, figuring out how things work, and finding practical solutions.
    You don't necessarily need to be an expert in every technology listed above. Strong Rails experience is the most important requirement. Experience with GitHub, Heroku, AWS, and PostgreSQL is highly
    desirable.
