ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Knowledge and practice of HUTCHINSON Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
  • Responsible for all aspects of rubber injection molding process
  • Participate as part of the production team supporting the rubber molding process
  • Support process troubleshooting in day to day manufacturing.
  • Support problem solving and root cause analysis to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Develop and conduct DOE to optimize the process in terms of quality and throughput.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to improve throughput, quality, and uptime.
  • Track KPIs and use PDCA methodologies to improve KPIs.
  • Identify and implement best practices in rubber molding.
  • Provide process training to technicians.
  • Participate and provide input into Rubber Mold Tooling Designs
  • Support the development and maintenance of standards applied to rubber process' and tooling.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Engineering, Prototype, and Production groups, and other plant and office personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of the different rubber presses.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
Required
Bachelor's degree in rubber engineering or related technical field.
Preferred:
10 years related experience and/or training in Rubber Process Engineering, or manufacturing systems or equivalent experience.
Six Sigma Training, Green Belt or Black Belt
Lean Manufacturing Certification.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define root cause to problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for the repair of the issue.
