Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days, 7:00 AM โ€“ 7:00 PM | Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed Emergency Department with patient ratios of 4โ€“6:1
  • Perform and assist with procedures including RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
  • Manage care of psychiatric patients and coordinate transfers to other facilities in accordance with EMTALA guidelines
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech EMR
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, staff RNs, and medics across day shift operations
  • Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements of four weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within a four-week scheduling period
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license valid in Virginia or compact state eligibility
  • Minimum 2โ€“3 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Must have completed 2โ€“3 prior travel assignments
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with variable staffing levels throughout the shift
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience in high-acuity, high-volume Emergency Departments
  • Comfortable working with patient ratios of 5:1
  • Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH Stroke Scale
  • Relaxed, team-oriented, and collaborative personality with strong interpersonal skills
