At Waxing the City, our licensed service providers are not only waxing experts, they're waxing authorities. This led us to create our very own title of Cerologist™, combining "cera" (Latin for wax) with "ologist" (to highlight their level of education and expertise). After a week-long, hands-on training course at our Waxing University®, our service providers become certified Cerologists. 
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a part-time Cerologist for our Mosaic District studio in Fairfax, VA. This position covers Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons and evenings — our three busiest days — starting at approximately 19.5 hours per week with a clear path to full-time as the studio grows. You'll be serving an active, established client base from day one, including walk-in clients and overflow from a fully booked team.
Strong performers at this studio earn $20–$37/hr all-in including base pay, commissions, and tips. This is a W-2 employee position.

SUMMARY:
Do you love waxing? Does educating clients about the benefits of waxing and sharing the latest product trends energize you? Are you looking to sharpen your waxing skills or learn a new technique? If so, Waxing the City may be a good fit for you! At Waxing the City our clients are the focus and our Cerologists are the ultimate professionals at their craft. 
  1. Responsible for implementation of customer service standards for all internal and external clients. Goal is to exceed client expectations from initial inquiry to on-going client relationship management.
  2. Responsible for maintaining a clean and professional environment.
  3. Accountable for efficient, effective and high-quality service provision following all defined waxing service standards.
  4. Serve walk-in clients and appointment overflow on the studio's highest-volume shifts.
  5. .Support and protect our culture.
  6. Other duties as assigned in the spirit of teamwork. 
  7. Follows safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions.
Role Scope and Complexity
 The Cerologist reports directly to the Studio Owner and Lead Cerologists and is accountable for adhering to all service provisions and sanitation standards. They are accountable for meeting established service protocols and customer service standards focusing on both internal and external clients. Also accountable for informing and educating clients on our service offerings, retail products and Club Orange membership program, building and retaining clients through community engagement and other marketing efforts put forth by management. 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Required: Current Virginia Licensure (Esthetician, Cosmetologist)
  • A passion for waxing and the beauty industry
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced afternoon and evening window on the studio's busiest days
