What is RSA engineering?

RSA engineering refers to the work performed by engineers specializing in the RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) cryptographic algorithm. These professionals focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems that use RSA for encryption, digital signatures, and secure data transmission. RSA engineers often work in cybersecurity, developing protocols to protect sensitive information and ensuring compliance with security standards. Their expertise is critical for securing online communications, financial transactions, and confidential data in various industries.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an RSA Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an RSA Engineer, you need a solid background in cybersecurity, information systems, and risk analysis, typically supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with RSA security products (such as RSA SecurID, Archer, or NetWitness), cryptographic protocols, and relevant certifications like CISSP or RSA Certified Administrator is highly valued. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help you manage threats and work collaboratively across IT teams. These competencies are crucial for ensuring robust security postures, protecting sensitive data, and supporting business continuity.

What types of projects do RSA Engineers typically work on, and how does project diversity impact day-to-day responsibilities?

RSA Engineers are often involved in a wide range of projects, including structural design, forensic engineering, and building assessments for both public and private sector clients. This project diversity means that day-to-day responsibilities can vary significantly, from performing site visits and drafting technical reports to collaborating with architects, contractors, and other engineers. The variety keeps the role engaging and offers frequent opportunities to develop new skills. It also requires strong communication and adaptability, as priorities can shift rapidly depending on project demands.

What is the difference between Rsa Engineering vs Electrical Engineering?

AspectRsa EngineeringElectrical Engineering
CredentialsTypically requires a degree in engineering or related field, certifications may varyBachelor's or higher in electrical engineering, professional licensure often preferred
Work EnvironmentDesign, analysis, and consulting in various industries, often office-basedDesign, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems, often in labs or field sites
Industry UsageUsed across multiple sectors including manufacturing, construction, and technologyPrimarily in power, electronics, and telecommunications industries

Rsa Engineering and Electrical Engineering share foundational engineering principles and often require similar educational backgrounds. However, Rsa Engineering typically focuses on specific project design and consulting roles, while Electrical Engineering covers a broader range of electrical system development and maintenance. Both roles are vital in their respective industries and often overlap in technical skills and certifications.

Job description

Company Overview: Established in California in 2013, Green Water and Power has rapidly grown to operate in over 25 states, positioning itself as a leader in the sustainable energy sector. Named the #1 electric vehicle (EV) installer in America, we take pride in having deployed more than 10,000 EV chargers and completed approximately 5 megawatts (MW) of solar energy projects.
As an EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certified turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm, we leverage our in-house expertise to efficiently manage and execute large-scale projects. Our dedication to sustainability and quality extends beyond project completion; we provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services to ensure optimal performance for both company-developed and third-party installations.
Position Overview: Green Water and Power is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable RSA Associate to manage Registered Service Agent (RSA) responsibilities for our EV charging infrastructure projects nationwide. This role owns the RSA compliance process from charger labeling through Placed in Service (PiS) reporting, county submission, and Salesforce recordkeeping, ensuring every project closes out in full compliance with state and county requirements.
In addition to RSA duties, this role will occasionally support the Networking team with EV charger commissioning and basic network troubleshooting as project needs require.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with documentation and regulatory forms, and able to manage multiple project deadlines independently. This position reports to the Network Operations Manage.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Registered Service Agent (RSA) Duties
  • Serve as the company's Registered Service Agent (RSA) for assigned EV charging projects, ensuring required registrations, activations, documentation, and compliance are completed for full project closeout.
  • Affix RSA labels to chargers per state requirements, including hole-punching license initials, day, month, and year of installation.
  • Photograph charger serial numbers and required RSA documentation; upload images to the appropriate RSA training channel or SharePoint folder.
  • Prepare and review Placed in Service (PiS) reports, verifying agent name, license number, date, location/company name, and device ID against field data.
  • Confirm the correct submission contact directly with each county and email the completed PiS report accordingly.
  • Update Salesforce to reflect Placed in Service status, including agent name and date.
  • File completed PiS reports in the appropriate project folder (Legal > RSA), creating the RSA folder if one does not exist.
  • Track RSA licensing and registration compliance across active projects and states.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for RSA compliance questions.

Networking Support Duties
  • Assist with commissioning of EV site networks and EV chargers as needed.
  • Support field installation of access points, ethernet cabling, switches, and routers on an as-needed basis.
  • Assist with charger calibration, configuration, and validation testing when required.
  • Monitor charger status and help troubleshoot basic connectivity or performance issues.

General
  • Maintain strict adherence to job site safety standards.
  • Participate in company training as required, including RSA licensing/certification training.
  • Perform other assignments and special projects as requested by management.
  • Local and regional travel required.

Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Service Agent (RSA) license, or ability and willingness to obtain one, in required state(s).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience with compliance reporting, forms, or regulatory documentation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM preferred.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, LAN) helpful but not required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including coordinating directly with county offices.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Comfortable using a smartphone/camera for field documentation.
  • Willing and able to travel to job sites, including climbing ladders/stairs and working on rooftops, as needed for occasional networking support.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver's license, and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($22-$25)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits package
  • Retirement Savings Plan
  • Paid RSA licensing and training
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement within a rapidly expanding industry
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in advancing sustainable energy solutions
