Job description

Company: Pride Health

Job Title: MLS

Location: Elizabeth, NJ

Assignment Length: 13 Weeks

Schedule: 5x7.5 | 40 hours/week

Shift: Evening

Pay Rate: $1900-$2100/week


Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical laboratory testing across Blood Bank, Generalist, and Caller functions.
  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
  • Perform testing in areas including immunoassay, hormone/thyroid testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, tumor markers, cardiac enzymes, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, body fluids, serology, and pregnancy testing.
  • Perform CBCs, manual differentials, platelet counts, reticulocyte counts, ESR, fibrinogen, FDP/fibrin split products, platelet aggregation, and related hematology/coagulation testing.
  • Perform urinalysis, including manual macroscopic and microscopic examination and crystal identification.
  • Perform serological and immunological testing, including ANA, ASO titers, RPR, complement testing, and related assays.
  • Perform specimen accessioning, collection, pipetting, processing, and other pre-analytical laboratory functions.
  • Follow quality assurance procedures, laboratory controls, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize laboratory information and charting systems, including Sunquest and EPIC.
  • Operate and perform testing using Beckman Coulter DxI, DxC, and DxH 600T instrumentation.
  • Float within the clinician's scope of practice and support applicable laboratory areas based on facility staffing and operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure timely, accurate reporting of test results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and departmental operations.
  • Work required weekends and holidays according to the assigned schedule and facility requirements.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Travel experience required.
  • ASCP certification required at the time of submission.
  • Previous experience in a hospital clinical laboratory environment preferred.
  • Experience working as a Blood Bank, Generalist, and Caller.
  • Beckman Coulter DxI and DxC experience required.
  • Beckman Coulter DxH 600T experience required.
  • Sunquest system experience required.
  • Echo instrumentation experience required.
  • Experience with EPIC or comparable clinical charting systems required.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control, specimen handling, and clinical testing.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced hospital laboratory environment.
  • Ability and willingness to float within scope of practice based on facility needs.
  • Must be available for every other weekend.
  • Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays, unless otherwise specified.
  • First-time travelers are not accepted.
