Job description

We are seeking a skilled RPGLE, RPGFree and Embedded SQL Project Leader to lead and manage projects as well as contribute to development efforts for our leading retail client. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in RPGLE and Embedded SQL development, project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects from initiation to completion, ensuring project objectives are achieved within the defined timeline and budget.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance RPGLE, RPGFree and Embedded SQL programs for retail and warehouse/distribution systems.
  • Experience with EDI, Bar Coding helpful
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that development efforts align with business requirements and project goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards are met.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in RPG and Embedded SQL development.
  • 3+ years of experience in project management.
  • Strong experience in RPGL and Embedded SQL programming.
  • Experience with retail systems, warehouse/distribution systems would be helpful but not required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead a team and work collaboratively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work onsite.
