These professionals use tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism to automate repetitive tasks and improve business efficiency. They collaborate with teams virtually, troubleshoot automation issues, and ensure smooth workflow operations. Strong programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience with RPA tools are essential for this role.

Is RPA in demand in 2026?

RPA (Robotic Process Automation) developers are expected to remain in high demand through 2026 due to ongoing digital transformation efforts across industries. Skills in tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism, along with programming knowledge, will continue to be valuable for remote RPA developer roles.

Are RPA developers in demand?

RPA developers are in high demand due to the increasing adoption of automation across industries. Organizations seek professionals skilled in tools like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, and Blue Prism to streamline processes and improve efficiency, leading to strong job growth in this field.

What does a typical workday look like for a remote RPA Developer?

A typical workday for a remote RPA Developer often starts with a virtual team meeting to discuss ongoing projects, set priorities, and address any blockers. Throughout the day, you'll be designing, developing, and testing automation scripts, troubleshooting existing bots, and collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to understand and optimize workflows. Regular check-ins with team members and documentation updates are common to ensure projects are aligned and compliant with best practices. Remote RPA Developers rely heavily on communication tools and project management systems to stay connected and productive, making organization and proactive communication essential in this role.

Consistent remote work, strong communication, and a reliable internet connection are essential for maintaining such income levels.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Rpa Developer Remote position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an RPA Developer Remote, you need expertise in Robotic Process Automation tools such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere, along with strong programming skills in languages like Python, .NET, or Java. Familiarity with workflow automation, process analysis, and relevant certifications such as UiPath Certified RPA Developer are typically important for this role. Excellent problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and clear communication are key soft skills, especially when working remotely with cross-functional teams. These skills ensure you can efficiently automate business processes, resolve technical challenges independently, and maintain effective collaboration in a distributed work environment.

Will AI replace RPA?

AI and RPA (Robotic Process Automation) are complementary technologies; AI enhances RPA by enabling automation of more complex tasks that require decision-making and learning. RPA developers focus on designing and maintaining automation workflows, and while AI can automate some functions traditionally handled by RPA, it is more likely to augment rather than fully replace RPA roles in the near future.

If you are someone who thrives on purpose and wants to make a tangible difference in people's lives when it matters most, then join AAA Life who has the unique ability to access tens of millions of existing AAA customers powered by the strength of one of America's most trusted brands. We have embarked on a mission to double in size - Becoming one of the largest providers in the US. These facts showcase why we're the right choice:
  • On purpose: a leading professional services firm found that the commitment, empathy and dedication of employees at AAA Life was the highest across a benchmark of top US companies
  • On growth: we have the privilege to offer our products to tens of millions of Americans that are proud members of AAA
  • On making a difference: we serve Americans by delivering life insurance products that make a true difference for families during their hardest times, not wealth management instruments (more details on this during the interview)
  • On culture: USA Today named us 2025 top workplace nationwide. We believe the job of an insurance company is to do good. Our mission is to help our members during what is often the hardest times in their lives. We pick up the phone to people who have lost loved ones and offer our genuine support. That is why we will always put human connection at the heart of what we do - always being there to talk to our members person to person. We believe the job of an insurance company is to pay out. That is what insurance is for. Most of our members have real life policies - policies that bring peace of mind during life, and genuine support in the event of death. We are not here to chase the super-rich with annuities and wealth management products. AAA has been one of the most trusted names in America because it believes in providing the services that middle class Americans need.

Responsibilities
The Role
We are seeking a Solution Architect, Automation and AI to serve as senior technical leader within the Automation and AI organization. This role is accountable for defining and driving end-to-end solution architecture across high-impact automation initiatives, particularly focused on document-intensive workflows across underwriting, new business, claims, and policy servicing. This role owns the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and compliant automation solutions that integrate across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments. The Solution Architect will guide engineering teams, partner with business and MSP stakeholders, and establish architectural standards that enable reliable, auditable, and high-performing enterprise systems.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role where architectural decisions directly influence operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer outcomes across critical insurance workflows.
The Next Phase
Our mission is to provide those services for as many people as we can. To achieve that we need to evolve. We need to boldly embrace innovation and technology. Your leadership will help us deliver on our mission together and achieve our transformation. At AAA Life, empathy and progress go hand in hand, creating a culture where bright ideas flourish and meaningful impact grows. If you are drawn to an environment that values purpose as much as potential, we invite you to join us. Because here, being there for people isn't just a promise-it is our driving force.
Position Responsibilities
  • Define and own architecture for intelligent automation initiatives across underwriting, new business, claims, and policy servicing
  • Lead end-to-end solution design from discovery through production deployment, including scalability, resilience, and operational support models
  • Establish architecture standards, reusable patterns, and reference designs for document ingestion, classification, extraction, validation, and straight-through processing (STP)
  • Architect hybrid cloud solutions leveraging AWS and/or Azure integrated with core policy administration, CRM, and document management systems
  • Design and govern API and event-driven integration strategies across enterprise platforms using modern integration patterns (REST, messaging, iPaaS)
  • Design and oversee document intake and processing pipelines for applications, medical records (APS), claims, policy documents, and servicing correspondence
  • Evaluate and select appropriate automation approaches (RPA, IDP, LLM-based extraction, or agentic workflows) based on accuracy, cost, latency, and explainability
  • Act as the technical authority across automation modalities, including RPA (UiPath, Power Automate), IDP platforms, and LLM-based agentic workflows
  • Partner with Machine Learning Engineers to design and deliver agentic AI systems for document understanding, reasoning, and workflow orchestration
  • Define evaluation frameworks, observability standards, and human-in-the-loop controls for AI-driven processes in regulated environments
  • Translate complex insurance business processes and rules into scalable automation architectures with clear auditability and exception handling
  • Lead technical decision-making across tools, platforms, and vendors, balancing cost, performance, maintainability, and risk
  • Establish and enforce security-by-design principles, including data protection, identity management, and compliance with PII/PHI requirements
  • Drive measurable improvements in operational metrics such as cycle time, manual touch reduction
  • Ensure solutions meet regulatory and governance standards applicable to life insurance, including audit, traceability, and model risk considerations
  • Serve as the primary technical lead for MSP and vendor engagements, including architecture oversight, delivery governance, and SLA accountability
  • Partner with business leaders to define automation roadmaps aligned with measurable outcomes such as cycle time reduction, accuracy improvement, and cost efficiency
  • Mentor engineers and architects, elevating architectural rigor, documentation standards, and engineering maturity across the organization

Core Competencies - How You Will Contribute
  • Ability to operate as an enterprise-scale solution architect with ownership across multiple domains and systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to business and executive stakeholders
  • Proven ability to drive large-scale automation adoption in regulated enterprise environments
  • Expertise in balancing architectural trade-offs across scalability, cost, performance, and compliance
