Senior Music Publishing Revenue Analyst, Full Time Position

Job Overview

The Senior Music Publishing Revenue Analyst is responsible for maximizing royalty collections across Wise Music Group’s global music publishing catalog. This role focuses on identifying, investigating, and recovering missing or underreported royalty income while ensuring accurate collection, tracking, and reporting of publishing revenues.

Working closely with Copyright, Royalties, Finance, Licensing, Legal, and international affiliates, the successful candidate will proactively analyze royalty data, resolve collection issues, improve operational workflows, and identify opportunities to increase revenue. This position requires an analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong investigative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of music publishing income streams.

The Senior Music Publishing Revenue Analyst will also supervise members of the department, mentor junior staff, and help develop best practices for global income tracking and revenue assurance.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyze, and track royalty income across domestic and international revenue streams.
  • Investigate and recover missing, delayed, or underreported royalty income from performing rights organizations (PROs), mechanical rights organizations, DSPs, CMOs, subpublishers, licensees, and other third‑party collection sources.
  • Analyze royalty statements and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, payment anomalies, ownership conflicts, registration issues, and revenue leakage.
  • Partner with Copyright Administration to resolve registration, ownership, and metadata issues impacting royalty collections.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Royalties, Licensing, Finance, and international affiliates to ensure contractual obligations are accurately reflected in royalty collections.
  • Research internal and external databases to validate royalty income, investigate collection issues, and update data as necessary to improve payment accuracy.
  • Build, maintain, and improve reporting tools and dashboards that monitor collection performance and identify trends.
  • Prepare detailed financial analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management.
  • Develop and improve revenue tracking systems, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Support internal and external audits relating to royalty income and publishing revenue.
  • Build productive working relationships with collection societies, subpublishers, and other third‑party partners worldwide.
  • Supervise departmental staff, provide mentorship, and contribute to professional development of the team.
  • Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in music publishing revenue analysis, income tracking, royalty analysis, copyright administration, publishing operations, royalty auditing, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience investigating and resolving complex royalty collection issues.
  • Strong understanding of music publishing royalty income streams, including performance, mechanical, synchronization, digital, and international collections.
  • Experience working with large datasets and complex financial information.
  • Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, and investigative skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Working knowledge of music publishing rights administration, copyright registration, CWR processing, metadata management, and chain of title.
  • Experience working with domestic and international collection societies, including ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, GMR, PRS, SACEM, GEMA, APRA, SOCAN, The MLC, Harry Fox Agency (HFA), and international subpublishers.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, XLOOKUP, advanced formulas, and data analysis).
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and reporting platforms.
  • Experience with music publishing and royalty management systems such as Music Maestro, Curve Royalty Systems, Vistex Rights & Royalties (Counterpoint), Synchtank, Curve, RoyaltyShare, Record Maestro, or similar royalty processing platforms.
  • Experience with copyright administration platforms and industry databases.
  • Proficiency with Airtable, Smartsheet, Salesforce, Jira, Confluence, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong understanding of metadata standards, data quality, and workflow automation.
  • Knowledge of intellectual property law, publishing agreements, and rights management.
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted data analysis tools and workflow automation is a plus.
