Position Summary:
The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine of Rowan University is seeking an additional Veterinary Dentist to join the faculty in our new veterinary program and small animal teaching hospital. The selected candidate will be integral in developing the dentistry service within our new small animal teaching hospital. The hospital is designed to accommodate multiple specialty departments including anesthesia, cardiology, clinical pathology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging (with GE 128-slice CT and GE 3T MRI), emergency/critical care, exotics, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, primary care, radiology, surgery, and a full pharmacy with sterile compounding capabilities.
This position supports an important clinical service in the veterinary teaching hospital and significantly contributes to both client satisfaction and revenue generation. The selected candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive small animal dental specialty care to patients. They will have direct responsibility for teaching and evaluation of veterinary students, interns, and residents in the clinical setting. Teaching of dentistry and oral surgery within the pre-clinical years are essential components of the role. Our top priorities are delivering excellent patient care and training graduates who are competent, confident, and ready from day one.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery through completion of a residency program and be board-eligible or AVDC or EVDC board-certified.
Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications:
  • DVM or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of a veterinary dentistry and oral surgery residency training program with board-certification (or board-eligibility), AVDC or EVDC.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching veterinary students in a clinical setting, strongly preferred.
  • Currently licensed in or eligible for licensure in NJ.
  • NJ CDS permit or obtained upon hire.
  • DEA registration or obtained upon hire.

Salary Range:
In compliance with the State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $185,000. When extending any salary offer, Rowan University considers many factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, as well as market and other organizational considerations.

The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine is located on the Glassboro, New Jersey west campus, 22 miles southeast of Philadelphia. The Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine will admit its first class of DVM students in the fall of 2025. Facilities will include an academic teaching facility aimed at the delivery of pre-clinical training, a small animal teaching hospital, and a research facility.
