Position: Shipping Coordinator

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30pm

Reports to: Denise Simpson & Mike Owen


The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for operating an efficient, productive and safe department. The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for the productivity and will support areas, along with coordinating staffing to accommodate daily and seasonal volume.ย 


Responsibilities:

  • Experience in PPS environment. Knowledge and training indirect flow of daily pick tickets, safety measures, warehouse material flows, inventory accuracy processes, freight management including small parcel, LTL, TL and international shipping.
  • Direct daily material movement activities in the warehouse. Analyze workflow and develop/implement positive productivity changes. Ownership of shipping activities related to Key Account customers.
  • Oversee quality control for all outbound shipments
  • Participate in warehouse projects such as multi-bin, bar coding, and warehouse space utilization.
  • Collaborate with other functional components of the warehouse - inventory control, receiving, sales samples
  • Work with Customer Service to resolve quantity and quality issues on customer orders
  • Ensure all orders are quality inspected and search for picking discrepancies.
  • Schedule order pickups and fill out bill of ladings, commercial invoices, SED's and NAFTA's when needed.
  • Assist with loading and unloading containers.
  • Research and resolve customer claims, working toward zero claims.
  • Ability to read and understand specific routing guides

Requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diplomaย 
  • 1 year experience in one of the supply chain disciplines (i.e. warehousing, procurement, customer service, logistics, inventory control) preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong aptitude with numbers/ problem identification and resolution
  • Ability to learn and operate forklifts, reach trucks and cherry pickers
  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented and perform tasks with a high degree of urgency and accuracy
